Fastlanes & Starships: Cadillac’s Cosmic Journey into Formula 1

Cadillac is gearing up to enter Formula 1 in 2026, with just over 11 months to design, build, and test their F1 car before the season opener in Australia.

The team, based primarily in Fishers, Indianapolis, will be a unique addition to the grid, with plans for a purpose-built facility in the United States.

The project is well underway, with nearly 600 staff working on the production of the first Cadillac grand prix cars, a significant increase from the initial team of three.

Despite the tight deadline, team principal Graeme Lowdon is confident in their progress, with around two-thirds of the required team members in place.

The main focus will be in Fishers, Indianapolis, where American staff will be recruited to build the F1 cars, while the site at Silverstone will serve as a hub for various team departments.
