The Tuesday afternoon session of testing was scheduled to begin at 1pm GMT but was later cancelled at 2pm GMT due to a fire in the WAE garage, caused by a Gen3 battery. The battery belonged to DS Penske rookie Robert Shwartzman and was being examined in the garage when the fire broke out. The fire was swiftly extinguished by local authorities, but one WAE employee was taken to the hospital for precautionary checks. The entire paddock had to be evacuated as black smoke rose into the sky. The remaining schedule for testing has yet to be confirmed and Formula E has instructed teams to collect their belongings and leave without working on their cars.
