During Friday’s Indy 500 practice, Kyffin Simpson of Chip Ganassi Racing experienced a severe crash just 50 minutes into the session. Simpson’s car spun out at Turn 4, hit the wall, went airborne, landed on its side, and then slid into the inside wall at pit road entrance. Despite the intense crash, Simpson radioed that he was okay but noted the car was loose. The incident prompted an extended stoppage for barrier repairs and safety checks.
