Former Formula 1 driver Daniil Kvyat believes Red Bull’s car is still very fast and capable of challenging championship leaders McLaren, despite the current point deficit. Red Bull, currently third in the standings, is 148 points behind McLaren and has only secured two victories compared to McLaren’s five. Kvyat acknowledges Red Bull’s struggles to match McLaren’s pace in several races but remains optimistic about their championship prospects, emphasizing the narrow sweet spot the car needs to perform optimally. He points out the significant consequences of deviating from this sweet spot, resulting in a loss of lap time for the team. Looking ahead, Kvyat sees potential for Red Bull to compete fiercely in the 2025 constructors’ championship, especially considering their willingness to push harder with less at stake compared to McLaren.
