Piastri’s Struggles on the Streets of Monaco: A Rocky Road in F1 Qualifying

McLaren’s Oscar Piastri has admitted to struggling on the streets of Monaco during qualifying for the grand prix, putting his car in third position for tomorrow’s Formula 1 race after frequently clipping the walls. Despite starting slow with a head-on collision at Sainte Devote, Piastri’s weekend was marred by continued brushes with the circuit’s barriers.

During qualifying, Piastri grazed the barriers multiple times, prompting him to request his team to check the car over team radio. The championship leader conceded that the weekend was “messy” with more wall hits than in his entire career.

Although lining up third, Piastri acknowledged the challenge of racing against Charles Leclerc and pole-sitter Lando Norris. Hoping the new two-stop rule at Monaco will aid his progress, Piastri aims to navigate the tight streets for a successful Grand Prix outing.
