Carlos Sainz secured pole position for the Italian Grand Prix ahead of Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc after a one-hour qualifying session split into three segments. Verstappen set the quickest time but had a lap time deleted for exceeding track limits. Both Ferraris faced a stewards inquiry but no further action was taken.
