Mitch Evans topped the first morning session of the official Formula E pre-season test, being held at the Circuit Ricardo
The first session of testing in Valencia marked the countdown to the season 10 opener in Mexico City on January 13, 2024. Evans was the fastest driver, followed closely by da Costa and Buemi. Mahindra Racing’s strong performance was surprising given their weak performance last season, and Porsche’s improvement in one-lap pace was evident. Günther, Barnard, Müller, Sette Câmara, and Cassidy completed the top 10. Daruvala impressed as a rookie for Maserati MSG Racing, while other rookies struggled. Evans’ lap time was faster than Günther’s from last year, showing progress with the Gen3 machinery. Fast-charging pit-stops were a key feature of the session. Jaguars and Porsches are looking strong, but the afternoon session will reveal more.
