Mick Schumacher has admitted that F1 still remains his main goal despite making a switch to the World Endurance Championship with Alpine for 2024.
In 2023, Schumacher was dropped by Haas in Formula 1 and replaced with Nico Hulkenberg, leaving him without a race seat for the following year. As a result, Schumacher decided to race for Alpine in the Hypercar WEC class. Although he acknowledges the challenges in his new venture, he still considers Formula 1 to be his ultimate dream. Schumacher believes there is no reason to stay in Formula 1 without racing and falling behind, so he prefers to find alternative racing opportunities to further develop his skills. He will continue to be Mercedes’ third and test driver while fulfilling his WEC commitments. Having gained experience and understanding of his position within the team, Schumacher is now more confident in sharing his insights and information with Lewis and George.
