NASCAR Cup Darlington: Larson beats Reddick in playoff opener
Kyle Larson took control of the race in the final stage after a caution caused by Ryan Newman spinning. He led on the restart with 51 laps to go and held off challenges from Tyler Reddick to secure his first Southern 500 victory. Larson praised his team for their performance and credited his crew chief, Cliff Daniels, for his support. The race was challenging, with many drivers facing issues, including Denny Hamlin, who had to pit twice and later got caught in an accident. Larson’s win propelled him to second place in the playoff standings behind his teammate William Byron. The next race will be held at Kansas Speedway.
