Arvid Lindblad, a Red Bull prospect, drove Racing Bull’s 2023 AT04 for his first official F1 test at Imola.
Lindblad shared TPC testing duties with fellow Red Bull junior Ayumu Iwasa at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix venue, each handling the car during different parts of the day.
As Lindblad gears up for an F1 career with the Red Bull family, he secured an F1 superlicence from the FIA, although he is still 17 and requested special permission from Red Bull to proceed.
Despite having previously driven at Imola in February during a filming day, this was Lindblad’s first proper test with fewer restrictions in a two-year-old car, which went smoothly aside from a couple of spins during the test.
The test at Imola will help prepare Lindblad for his upcoming FP1 practice sessions with Racing Bulls and Red Bull, as he looks to fill the remaining rookie slots left by Isack Hadjar earlier in the year and joining Ayumu Iwasa at the parent team.
After a successful Formula Regional Oceania campaign, Lindblad’s recent wins in F2 in Spain add to his achievements and position him third in the championship behind Alex Dunne and Richard Verschoor.
