Revving Towards Excellence: The Road Glide’s Triumph in the New Harley-Davidson MotoGP Series

The new Harley-Davidson championship set to debut on the 2026 MotoGP undercard will showcase riders competing on the manufacturer’s Road Glide model. Details about this one-make championship were unveiled by Autosport and further elaborated upon during the official launch at the French Grand Prix. Harley-Davidson’s president, Jochen Zeitz, highlighted the company’s racing heritage dating back to the first motorcycle it produced in 1903, emphasizing that racing is ingrained in its DNA. While Harleys are already prominent in the King of the Baggers series stateside, this global championship marks a significant return to the racing circuit, with the race-prepared Road Glide boasting impressive specs for competitive racing in Europe and North America. The 2026 calendar reveals that the series will appear at six MotoGP weekends, featuring two races at each, including a presence at the Circuit of the Americas in the USA. Teams will consist of “six to eight teams, each fielding two riders,” all of whom will be backed by Harley-Davidson Factory Racing.
