Newgarden eliminated from IndyCar title race after St Louis exit

In the IndyCar race at St. Louis, Josef Newgarden needed to finish within 108 points of Alex Palou to stay in contention for the championship. He led the race for 98 laps from his pole position, but Scott Dixon’s alternate pit strategy turned things around. Dixon pitted three times compared to most of his rivals’ five pit stops.
