Unveiling the Electrifying Power: The Jaw-Dropping Innovation of Formula E’s Latest Beast

Formula E’s new car is stunning those who have been fortunate enough to have already driven it.

According to Citroën’s Nick Cassidy, the acceleration of Formula E’s new Gen4 car is described as “mind-blowing,” with the launch causing a driver’s “stomach to drop.”

Formula E officially presented the Gen4 car at Circuit Paul Ricard on Tuesday, set for competitive introduction in the upcoming season as part of its new regulatory cycle.

This represents a significant advancement in performance for the all-electric series, reducing the gap to F1 from about 15 seconds to potentially under five.

Featuring permanent all-wheel drive and a capability of producing 600 kW (815 bhp), the Gen4 car boasts an astonishing 0–100 km/h (0–60 mph) time of 1.8 seconds and a top speed of 335 km/h (208 mph).

Cassidy, who tested Stellantis’ Gen4 prototype, emphasized the car’s incredible acceleration and the unique experience it offers to the driver, highlighting the increased grip and braking potential compared to the Gen3 Evo car.

The Gen4 car has generated significant positive feedback on social media from fans and critics, with Cassidy believing it will bring a “very powerful” impact to the sport and its followers, offering a thrilling and impressive experience both for spectators at the track or watching on TV.
