Nick Cassidy: Leaving ‘Joker’ Cards Behind in the Intense Formula E Title Fight

It has been a strong start to life at Citroën for Nick Cassidy, but he knows more bad results cannot happen for his title chances.

Nick Cassidy stated that he must avoid any more poor races to contend for the Formula E drivers’ title, citing that he has already “used a couple of jokers.”

Despite the challenging competition, the New Zealander has excelled at Citroën, securing a podium finish in São Paulo and a victory in Mexico City early in the season.

While Cassidy’s success was unexpected in the new Citroën partnership post his Jaguar departure, he briefly led the standings but now trails Porsche’s Pascal Wehrlein by 20 points.

Recent races in Miami and Jeddah saw Cassidy finish outside the points, impacting his championship position, though he remains competitive given his earlier achievements.

Acknowledging the tight season ahead, Cassidy emphasized the need to avoid further setbacks to stay in contention for the world title, focusing on consistent performance.
