A highly challenging day at the office for Lando Norris ended with a DNF.
Lando Norris had a challenging Canadian Grand Prix that ended abruptly due to a mechanical failure during the race. McLaren’s decision to start both the reigning world champion and his teammate Oscar Piastri on intermediate tires compromised much of Norris’ race. The strategy backfired, leading both drivers to switch to slick tires and fall out of contention at the front. Despite fighting his way back into the points, Norris encountered a terminal mechanical issue on lap 40, resulting in his retirement from the race. His car emitted a loud and concerning noise before Norris parked in a run-off area. Norris was among the growing list of retirements, with Sergio Perez also forced out due to a dramatic suspension failure while heading back to the pit lane.
