Lewis Hamilton’s Miami Grand Prix was undone on the opening lap of the race after contact with Franco Colapinto.
During the Miami Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton admitted that his car was losing half a second per lap due to significant damage caused by a collision with Franco Colapinto’s Alpine.
Despite the damage, Hamilton managed to secure a seventh-place finish but expressed frustration with the situation.
He explained that the collision with Colapinto resulted in the loss of crucial carbon-fibre components, leading to a significant decrease in downforce.
Hamilton shared his disappointment, stating that he was simply trying to salvage as many points as possible with the damaged car.
Reflecting on his performance, Hamilton believed that he would have been more competitive without the loss of downforce caused by the damage.
He emphasized the impact of the early damage on his race and expressed his frustration at being unable to recover from the setback.
