Edoardo Mortara will start the opening race of Formula E’s Berlin double-header from pole position.
“Edoardo Mortara secured pole position for Formula E’s Berlin E-Prix by defeating Pascal Wehrlein, scoring three crucial points for the drivers’ championship with his fast lap. Reigning champion Oliver Rowland finished in third place on the grid, while Zane Maloney’s surprise performance got him into the duels after some close calls in previous rounds.
In the final, Mortara set a strong opening sector to secure pole despite Wehrlein being faster in the other sectors. Wehrlein had to defeat Nick Cassidy and Rowland to reach the final, while Mortara beat Maloney and Ticktum to set up the showdown. Rowland defeated Drugovich, and Ticktum beat Müller in the other quarter-final duels.
The group stage qualifications saw Wehrlein and Ticktum shining for Porsche, with Wehrlein leading the first group and Ticktum topping the second group. Rowland and Cassidy also made it to the duels, while no Jaguar driver managed to reach that stage despite their recent success in the competition.”
