The ousted AlphaTauri F1 driver is set to combine the role with Toyota with a return to Formula E.
Nyck de Vries, who lost his AlphaTauri F1 seat, has signed with Toyota to drive in its hypercar line-up for the 2024 World Endurance Championship. He will replace Jose Maria Lopez in the #7 machine, with Lopez moving to the Lexus GT3 programme. The other drivers in the #7 will still be Kamui Kobayashi and Mike Conway. Ryo Hirakawa, Brendon Hartley, and Sebastien Buemi will continue to drive the #8. de Vries will also compete in a full Formula E season with the Mahindra team while simultaneously racing in the WEC. It is common for drivers to participate in both series, as Buemi has previously claimed titles in both WEC and FE.
