F1 team bosses call for change to "brutal" Las Vegas GP schedule
The event timetable for the Las Vegas race was later than ever before in the history of the sport. This was done to accommodate TV viewers in Europe and shift local road closures to a later time in the day. Team members had to adjust to a time change from Europe at the end of a strenuous season, making it even tougher for them. Next year’s schedule will be even more challenging, as Las Vegas will be the start of a triple-header leading into Qatar and Abu Dhabi. Team bosses acknowledged that while the event was a success overall, the schedule had been too demanding on personnel. Suggestions for improvement included finding a more suitable timing for different time zones and running the race earlier in the evening. However, further assessment and work would be needed to implement any changes to the rigid sporting regulations. Team representatives expressed their support for improving the schedule.
