The qualifying session for the Brazilian Grand Prix has been delayed as the FIA carries out track sweeping following a Porsche Supercup session at Interlagos.
The qualifying session for the São Paulo Grand Prix has been delayed for at least 15 minutes due to concerns over debris on the track. Pirelli discovered several cuts to tyres after the practice session, and Fernando Alonso from Aston Martin had a puncture during the practice hour. The FIA confirmed the delay just 10 minutes before the scheduled start, so that the track could be cleaned and swept. Pirelli had asked the governing body to clean the track after finding the cuts, which were initially thought to be related to the pit lane. Ferrari is in a good position for the session after finishing one-two in practice with Carlos Sainz ahead of Charles Leclerc, but rain is forecasted.
