It has not been a smooth weekend so far for the Williams team in Miami, with Alex Albon issued a further penalty ahead of the sprint race in Miami.
Alex Albon will start the F1 Sprint at Miami from the pit lane, as confirmed by the FIA. Originally set to start in 19th position, his SQ1 lap time was deleted for exceeding track limits. Due to setup changes made by his Williams crew, Albon was demoted to a pit lane start. The changes, related to suspension, were done under parc fermé conditions. Parc fermé will reopen after the sprint race, allowing teams to make adjustments before Sunday’s grand prix qualifying. Albon’s teammate, Logan Sargeant, will start from 18th, while Valtteri Bottas received a grid penalty for impeding Oscar Piastri during sprint qualifying, placing him behind.
