Rookie Racer Lando Norris Grapples with Errors in F1 Canadian GP Qualifying, Finishing Seventh

Lando Norris admitted to making a couple of big mistakes during a disappointing Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix qualifying session, where he finished seventh at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal. Norris, 10 points behind championship leader Oscar Piastri, lamented McLaren’s loss of pace advantage due to track-specific challenges of low grip and heavy kerb use. While Piastri qualified third behind Max Verstappen and George Russell, Norris believes McLaren’s performance at this track is not as strong as on others, despite leading the constructors’ standings by 197 points. He remains optimistic that the team can improve during the race but acknowledges that a podium finish may be tough without their usual pace. Norris hopes for better tire performance to make up ground and potentially secure a one, two, or three-stop strategy.
