Racing Integrity Upheld: NASCAR Takes Swift Action in Crew Member Ejections

On Friday, 31 NASCAR Truck Series entries for Kansas Speedway underwent inspection, with most teams passing smoothly except for four trucks, including three from ThorSport Racing. These trucks, such as the No. 99 of Ben Rhodes, struggled to pass inspection, failing twice before finally passing on the third attempt. As a consequence, these teams will lose pit stall selection for the next race at North Wilkesboro, with their car chiefs being ejected from the track for the rest of the weekend as well.

The affected crew chiefs are Brad Means (No. 98), Derek Rohlfing (No. 99), Tyler Kontos (No. 88), and Tucker Scanlon (No. 26). This penalty was enforced due to the double failure during pre-race inspection, a common protocol in such cases. ThorSport Racing, whose trucks failed inspection, has yet to secure a win this season, although their fourth entry, No. 66 with Luke Baldwin, passed through tech without any issues.

An update from Saturday reveals that two Cup teams, including the No. 45 23XI Racing Toyota and the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports Ford, also failed inspection twice before eventually passing on the third try. Consequently, they will lose their car chiefs and pit stall selection for the Kansas race weekend. The car chiefs affected are Joe Marra (No. 34) and Michael Hobson (No. 45), increasing the total number of ejections to six for the weekend.
