Prelude to Perseverance: McLaren’s Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri Overcome Adversity in Canadian Grand Prix

Lando Norris expressed disappointment with McLaren’s performance during the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix, considering it their “worst Friday” of the season.

McLaren struggled with pace during practice sessions, with Norris finishing seventh in the morning and second in FP2, while championship leader Oscar Piastri placed 14th and sixth.

Despite bringing upgrades to Montreal, McLaren faced challenges putting together competitive laps and finding consistency on the difficult track.

Norris acknowledged the need for improvement and mentioned possible reevaluation of the new parts added to the car for better performance.

Both Norris and Piastri highlighted the competitiveness of other teams, especially Mercedes, making it crucial for McLaren to simplify their approach and enhance the car’s drivability for better results.
