MotoGP Qatar GP: Martin tops Zarco in first practice, Bagnaia third
The MotoGP race in Qatar for 2023 has been moved to a later date in the year due to track works, resulting in lap times being around four seconds slower than the record set in 2021. With only 14 points separating Bagnaia and Martin in the championship standings, Martin has the opportunity to win the world championship if he scores 23 more points than his rival this weekend. Martin topped FP1, followed by Zarco in second and Bagnaia in third. Raul Fernandez and Fabio Di Giannantonio also had strong performances in the session. Martin ultimately finished as the fastest rider in FP1.
