Alpine’s Pierre Gasly expressed his surprise at making it into Q3 for the British Grand Prix, considering the team’s challenges over the weekend. The lack of upgrades has put Alpine at a disadvantage compared to their midfield rivals, making it difficult for them to climb the constructors’ table. Gasly highlighted the struggles faced by Alpine due to an engine deficit on the power-demanding Silverstone circuit. Despite the challenging conditions, Gasly was pleased with his performance in Q2 and acknowledged the team’s efforts to maximize their package.
Gasly acknowledged that Silverstone is not their strongest track but remains optimistic about starting in the points. He anticipates a tough race but is prepared to fight for positions. Meanwhile, Gasly’s teammate Franco Colapinto had a difficult qualifying session, spinning off and starting from the pitlane for necessary car changes. Colapinto admitted to struggling but remains focused on improving for future races.
