Alex Palou Shines in Intense Indy 500 Drafting Practice; Rasmussen’s Mishap Raises Tension

During the last two-hour session before Carb Day on Friday, all 33 teams fully utilized the opportunity for on-track practice. Alex Palou led the pack with a 226.765mph lap, followed by Helio Castroneves and Takuma Sato. The top Chevrolet was driven by Jack Harvey, with Ryan Hunter-Reay and Nolan Siegel close behind.

The session saw some drama as Christian Rasmussen had an incident, and Robert Shwartzman faced challenges after earning pole position. Shwartzman had a lock-up and struggled in pit stops. Kyle Larson narrowly avoided disaster with a late move, ranking 11th on the speed chart.

As the focus shifts to race day, the intensity on the track increased, with big maneuvers and close calls, but no major incidents occurred.
