Vinales on his last-lap fight with Bagnaia: “I learned from Le Mans”
Aprilia rider Maverick Vinales had an advantage in terms of performance over the other riders during the Catalan MotoGP sprint, but he couldn’t overtake Francesco Bagnaia. Vinales wanted to avoid a repeat of their clash at the French MotoGP. The closest he came to overtaking Bagnaia was in turn 11, but he decided against it after looking over his shoulder. Vinales acknowledged the benefits of having his teammate, Aleix Espargaro, who has been with Aprilia for eight years, and mentioned the differences in their riding styles. Despite the challenges, Vinales is determined to perform well regardless of the bike or brand.
