Jonathan Rea says there was no added emotion when riding his final WorldSBK race with Kawasaki at Jerez last season.
Jonathan Rea, the six-time WorldSBK champion, had a strong start in his final race with Kawasaki before crashing out of the lead. Despite the mistake, he still finished the race. 2023 was not Rea’s most successful season with Kawasaki, but he managed to win in Most and finish third in the championship. Ducati and Yamaha had better performance overall, but Rea remained competitive in some races. In the season-finale at Jerez, Rea was focused on riding well and was not driven by emotion or anger. He made a mistake in turn two, but still appreciated finishing every lap of the race.
