Alpine F1 driver Pierre Gasly was relieved his golf skills didn’t result in an injury for one of the nearby spectators in Tuesday’s Netflix Cup event.
Four Formula 1 drivers and four PGA Golfers participated in Netflix’s first live event in Las Vegas. Carlos Sainz and his partner Justin Thomas emerged as the winners, defeating Pierre Gasly and Tony Finau. Gasly admitted that he was fortunate to not hit any spectators during the event and expressed his enjoyment of playing on the course, despite some less than perfect shots. Sainz, who broke the winner’s trophy during the celebrations, expressed his excitement at winning and receiving the chequered flag jacket. Lando Norris, who often plays golf with Sainz in their spare time, reflected on the experience as a good day out and an opportunity to meet talented athletes from another sport.
