Binder on Bagnaia horror: “Every rider’s worst nightmare, I tried to miss him”
In a terrifying incident during the first lap in Barcelona, there was a multi-rider pile-up and Bagnaia was hit and landed in front of oncoming traffic, struck in the legs by Binder. Bagnaia was conscious but taken to the medical center. Despite retiring early from the restarted race, Binder checked on Bagnaia and described the last couple of hours as crazy. Thankfully, Bagnaia was moving and seemed fine, although injured. After Bagnaia and Bastianini were transported to the hospital, the race was able to restart. Binder experienced technical issues but still visited Bagnaia, who surprisingly seemed okay. Aleix Espargaro ultimately won the Catalunya MotoGP.
