During the opening lap of the grand prix, Francesco Bagnaia was involved in a horrifying incident while leading, where he was thrown from his Ducati and had his leg run over by Brad Binder’s KTM. Both Bagnaia and his teammate Enea Bastianini, who triggered a pile-up at Turn 1, were taken to the medical center and then transferred to the hospital. According to Doctor Angel Charte, Bagnaia appears to have escaped serious injury, but he will undergo a CAT scan to evaluate a small injury detected, to determine if it’s old or new.
