Update on Francesco Bagnaia’s injury after Catalunya MotoGP scare
Pecco Bagnaia, the factory Ducati rider, had a highside crash on the first lap in Barcelona. Upon landing, he was struck in the legs by KTM’s Brad Binder. The race was stopped, and Bagnaia was taken to the medical center and then transferred to a local hospital. MotoGP Medical Director, Dr. Angel Charte, stated that Bagnaia suffered severe polytrauma, with a motorbike running over his legs in the femoral and tibial area. X-rays revealed a small injury, but further urgent tests, including a CAT scan, were needed to assess the extent of his injuries. Despite this, Bagnaia remained conscious and oriented during the incident.
