Daniel Ricciardo’s hand injury was worse than initially feared.
Unfortunately, Daniel Ricciardo sustained a hand injury during Friday practice at the F1 Dutch Grand Prix. Initially, it was hoped to be a clean break, but both AlphaTauri and Red Bull have confirmed that the situation is more complicated than expected. Ricciardo underwent surgery in Barcelona and the procedure went well, although the fracture was more complex than anticipated. He will need some time for observation in Barcelona before returning. It is now likely that Ricciardo will miss the upcoming F1 Singapore Grand Prix as well, but there is hope for his return in Japan later in September. Ricciardo remains positive and sees this as part of his comeback journey.
