Porsche leads the shaken up order in the 2025 Le Mans 24 Hours at the halfway stage, with Laurens Vanthoor driving the #6 PPM 963 ahead of Ferrari. The factory Ferraris initially challenged, but a penalty for the #50 Ferrari and strategic fuel economy by Kevin Estre in the #6 Porsche shifted the lead.
Ferrari team orders saw the lead transfer from the #83 AF Corse Ferrari to the #51 factory Ferrari driven by James Calado after Phil Hanson’s off-track incident. However, a series of penalties for the factory Ferraris allowed the #6 Porsche to rejoin the fight for the lead.
A safety car period caused by an LMP2 crash mixed up the running order, with the #6 Porsche leading from the #8 Toyota GR010 HYBRID and the #83 AF Corse Ferrari. The #101 WTR Cadillac became the first Hypercar retirement due to an engine failure shortly after racing resumed.
In the LMP2 class, the #48 VDS Panis ORCA-Gibson 07 led ahead of #9 Iron Lynx – Proton and #43 Inter Europol Competition, while the #46 WRT BMW faced electrical issues, leading to their retirement from the LMGT3 class lead, which was then taken by the #92 Manthey 1ST Phorm Porsche.
