Triumph Against Adversity: Inter Europol’s Inspiring Victory at Le Mans LMP2

Nick Yelloly, the winner of the Le Mans 24 Hours LMP2 class, described this year’s race as having “more ups and downs than I’ve ever seen” with a roller-coaster final hour. Yelloly, along with Tom Dillmann and Jakub Smiechowski in the #43 Inter Europol ORECA-Gibson 07, was in a tight battle with the #48 VDS Panis Racing team throughout the race. Despite a penalty for speeding in the pitlane, the #43 car managed to take the lead when the #48 car slowed down due to a suspension issue. Yelloly, a Le Mans debutant, pushed hard and secured a significant lead by the finish line. The race was filled with mistakes and penalties, but Yelloly’s determination paid off in the end. Esteban Masson of the #48 team expressed disappointment over missing out on the win but acknowledged the tough competition from the Inter Europol squad.
