Lando Norris secured victory at the Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix after fending off his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri throughout the race.
Norris maintained his lead despite constant pressure from Piastri, ultimately crossing the finish line to reduce the gap in the drivers’ championship to 15 points.
Reigning champion Max Verstappen suffered a setback after being eliminated from the race in a collision with Andrea Kimi Antonelli’s Mercedes on the first lap.
Charles Leclerc claimed third place for Ferrari, ahead of Lewis Hamilton in fourth and George Russell in fifth.
A battle further back saw Fernando Alonso hold off Gabriel Bortoleto to secure seventh, while Nico Hulkenberg and Esteban Ocon rounded out the points-paying positions.
The race was eventful, with Carlos Sainz facing issues at the start and Alex Albon retiring on lap 16, as Norris maintained his composure to secure a hard-fought victory.
