He took full responsibility for the incident and offered apologies to both his team and Verstappen, acknowledging the possibility of a penalty affecting his next race at the British Grand Prix. Despite coming off a podium finish in Canada, Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff remains cautious, emphasizing the importance of building on recent progress and aiming to maximize points at the upcoming races.
