Formula E and Google Cloud have partnered to introduce an AI-powered audio race report for blind and visually impaired fans, supported by RNIB, enabling them to follow the championship. The initiative originated from an AI Hackathon at the London E-Prix, where a winning team utilized Google tools to create an audio podcast. The first-place entry will be launched in time for season 12 following the event’s recognition in the Autosport Awards. RNIB-organized focus groups will conduct user testing of the audio race reports in Berlin and London to ensure inclusivity and functionality. The collaboration aims to make electric racing accessible to all fans and showcases technology being utilized for positive impact in sports. Google Cloud’s technology will transcribe live commentary, analyze race data, and generate audio reports in multiple languages, providing an immersive experience for blind and visually impaired racing enthusiasts worldwide.
