LIV Golf’s existence has been thrown into doubt following the exit of PIF, a stakeholder and major partner of Formula E.
Formula E CEO Jeff Dodds has expressed his lack of concern after Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) withdrew from the LIV Golf series.
The announcement of PIF’s exit from LIV Golf has put pressure on the golf series to secure new investors before the end of its 2026 season.
PIF stated that it chose to withdraw due to the misalignment of the required substantial investment with their own investment strategy.
Despite PIF’s involvement in Formula E as a minor shareholder and partner in the Electric 360 initiative, Dodds remains confident in their continued investment in the all-electric series.
Dodds emphasized that PIF’s decision to exit LIV Golf was likely a strategic business move and does not necessarily indicate a change in their investments in other sports.
