Australian F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo has been sidelined due to an injury sustained during the second practice at the Zandvoort circuit. He crashed into the barrier after locking the front wheels at Turn 3, resulting in a broken metacarpal in his left hand. Ricciardo underwent surgery in Barcelona and is expected to make a full recovery. In the meantime, Liam Lawson will replace him in the AlphaTauri team until he is fit to return. Ricciardo aims to return to racing at the Singapore Grand Prix, although the length of his recovery is uncertain.
