Liam Lawson will continue to drive for the AlphaTauri F1 team this season until Daniel Ricciardo has recovered from his injury.
Ricciardo underwent successful surgery for his broken hand sustained in a crash during Friday practice, which ruled him out of the Dutch Grand Prix. Red Bull reserve Lawson was brought in as a last-minute replacement and finished 13th in his F1 debut. AlphaTauri has confirmed that Lawson will continue to fill in for Ricciardo until he has fully recovered. This means Lawson will compete in the upcoming Italian Grand Prix at Monza. The team expressed their delight in Ricciardo’s successful surgery and stated that Lawson will continue to drive alongside Yuki until Ricciardo is fully fit.
