From Shock to Success: the Tale of Horner’s Red Bull Departure

Christian Horner expressed his surprise at being sacked as Red Bull F1 team boss after 20 years in a public statement.

The decision came after a decline in the team’s competitiveness and the departure of key figures like Adrian Newey, raising uncertainty about Max Verstappen’s future.

Horner addressed the team on Wednesday, confirming he will stay on the company’s payroll but not in an operational role.

Laurent Mekies will take over as Red Bull F1 CEO and team principal, while Horner thanked the team for their dedication over the years.

Under Horner’s leadership, Red Bull won six constructors’ titles and eight drivers’ titles with Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen.
