DS Penske Dominates Tokyo Formula E Race, Securing Valuable Points for Championship

The Franco-American team finished their weekend in Japan positively, with Jean-Eric Vergne securing sixth place on Sunday after an eighth-place finish on Saturday. His team-mate, Max Guenther, also performed well and earned tenth place in a strategic and intense race. The second Formula E race of the double-header did not include a Pitboost, was slightly shorter than the previous day, aimed to provide more excitement and encourage new energy strategies.

Despite the circuit’s early morning heat in Tokyo, the electric single-seaters set impressive lap times during the practice session. Porsches, Nissans, and Vergne’s DS Penske showed strong performance, setting the stage for an exciting qualifying session. Vergne advanced to the quarter-finals, but narrowly missed out on qualifying. However, he managed to secure a starting position from the second row on the grid in his DS E-Tense FE25 after the duels.

The race saw well-managed performances from the DS Penske drivers on the challenging track in Tokyo. The activation of Attack Mode provided opportunities for drivers to gain positions, with Vergne adjusting his strategy to maintain his place. Despite a minor interruption due to track cleanup, the race resumed swiftly, with drivers utilizing their power-ups strategically throughout the event. The team’s performance reflected their experience and determination to succeed in the demanding Formula E discipline.
