Aston Martin using 2024 F1 car findings to upgrade 2023 machine
The FIA’s cost cap and restrictions on aerodynamic testing are forcing teams to begin development of new cars earlier rather than relying on unlimited spending. Aston Martin has lost 20% of its aero testing time due to their rise in the constructors’ standings, but they are still pushing hard to develop the new AMR24 car for 2023. Lessons learned from the ’24 car development are being applied to the ’23 car, and updates are still being made this year. Aston Martin has brought revised parts and plans to continue developing throughout the season, taking advantage of the cost cap allowances. The team still has more parts to come and hopes to bring updates deep into the season.
