George Russell names Max Verstappen as his dream next Mercedes teammate
At 38, Lewis Hamilton is one of the oldest drivers in Formula 1. However, he is expected to sign a new contract with Mercedes that will likely extend his career into his 40s. Despite being part of an older generation, Hamilton’s teammate, George Russell, revealed that if given the chance, he would choose Max Verstappen as his next teammate. Russell believes that racing against the best, like Hamilton and Verstappen, pushes him to test and improve his skills as a driver. He also acknowledges Verstappen’s current dominance in Formula 1 and expresses a desire to compete against him. Last year, Russell became only the third teammate to outperform Hamilton over an entire season, and Mercedes, currently trailing Red Bull, hope to end Verstappen’s winning streak at the Italian Grand Prix this weekend.
