Logan Sargeant has thrown his support behind Max Verstappen joining the World Endurance Championship, with the Red Bull driver having held “discussions” with Ford over a Le Mans Hypercar tilt.
“American driver Logan Sargeant believes Max Verstappen would excel in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) if he were to join Ford’s upcoming Hypercar program.
Sargeant, who currently races for Ford in WEC’s LMGT3 class and is set to move up to Hypercar next season, expressed his admiration for the four-time F1 drivers’ champion and hopes to potentially team up with him.
Ford’s global director of racing, Mark Rushbrook, has confirmed ongoing discussions with Verstappen regarding opportunities in sports cars, including the manufacturer’s Hypercar entry in 2027.
Verstappen has shown interest in participating in the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans, a race he has targeted as a future challenge on top of his GT3 and Nurburgring 24-hour event appearances.
With Ford’s return to WEC’s premier class in sight, the possibility of notable guest drivers like Verstappen joining the team is becoming more tangible within the racing community.”
