Max Verstappen won a thrilling Las Vegas Grand Prix, his 18th victory of the 2023 Formula 1 season, but it was a tough battle due to wing damage and a penalty. Verstappen made a daring move on the opening lap to overtake Charles Leclerc, resulting in both cars going off track. Despite a five-second penalty, Leclerc passed Verstappen later in the race. Sergio Perez initially led the race but was overtaken by Leclerc and then by Verstappen, who had incurred damage to his front wing. Verstappen held onto the lead and won the race, while Leclerc finished in second place. Perez claimed third, securing second place in the drivers’ championship. Esteban Ocon finished fourth, benefiting from a team order discussion at Alpine. Lance Stroll completed the top five.
