MotoGP title hopeful Jorge Martin laid all the blame on tyre supplier Michelin after a Qatar Grand Prix slump that severely damaged his championship bid
MotoGP championship contender Jorge Martin believes that the 2023 title is being taken away from him due to circumstances beyond his control. He finished 10th in the Qatar Grand Prix, while his main rival Pecco Bagnaia finished second, widening the gap between them to 21 points. Martin hinted at his dissatisfaction with his performance, pointing to issues with his rear tire on his Ducati during the race. He expressed frustration with the situation, stating that it feels like his championship chances have been stolen from him. Martin believes that there was something wrong with the tire, as he was the only rider in the entire grid who experienced these problems. He called for improvements to be made, stating that it’s unacceptable for a MotoGP championship to be decided by a tire issue.
