The Swiss driver, Simona de Silvestro, will be returning to Supercars at the Great Race this year. She will partner with rookie Kai Allen in a Dick Johnson Racing-run wildcard entry. However, her plans to begin testing in Australia this week were changed after she had emergency surgery to remove her appendix. She is currently recovering in Switzerland, causing her arrival in Australia to be delayed.
